Audit, Verification and Reporting

Through verification and auditing of metering systems, it is possible to guard against potential instrument or system problems while guaranteeing trustworthy data reporting and full traceability. Procedural errors can also, be highlighted and possible measurement issues prevented. The data achieved from metering can be relied on when making important operational decisions, potentially leading to reduced costs and improved profitability

  • Audit: metering audit entails investigating meter point and confirm tenant information, meter installation, wiring, and correctly positioning of mounted current transformer on the primary cable. SES ensure that every existing meter installed meet the NRS 057/SANS474 standard requirement including calibration.
  • Verification: is a process conducted to confirm if a tenant load is allocated correctly to the tenant and ensure that each tenant is associated with its load and is measured correctly.
  • SES provides a detailed report that entails findings, results, and recommendations. Also, we conduct on-site calibration as part of meter and load verification using calibration equipment that complies with the metering standard requirement.

Installation

  • SES is experienced and competent to do the following meter installation in accordance with the metering code of practice compliance (NRS 057 / SANS474)
  • LV - Single phase meter,
  • LV -Three phase direct meter
  • LV/MV/HT -Three phase CT driven meter.
  • All technicians employed by SES are competent and possesses electrical qualifications and safety compliance certificate to operate Medium and High voltage as per Eskom and Local municipality requirement (ORHVS)

Commissioning

  • The most important attribute of metering is accuracy. Energy management and billing can only be successful if metering is commissioning and certified correctly by a qualified and competent metering technician.
  • SES prepare and submit full commissioning report per meter point detailing instantaneous values such as currents, voltage, and phasors diagram including calculation of kVA and load confirmation between primary and secondary values.
  • SES does not own any AMR or online meter monitoring system but we can integrate third-party Automated Meter Reading (AMR) System into our internal metering audit, verification, and commissioning programs to confirm and analyse existing meter wiring linked with a billing system.

Single Line Diagram

  • Single line diagrams outline electricity network reticulation of a distribution board depicting load, meter points, tenant’s information, local sections, and common areas. Also assist utility managers with load balancing and analysis
  • A single line diagram forms part of commissioning and helps with load balancing and analysis.
